An anti-corruption compliance certificate is proof that an anti-corruption compliance mechanism has been assessed and deemed of sufficient quality by an external party. Companies choose to have their anti-corruption compliance mechanisms certified for various reasons, the most common of which are to obtain support for internal communications and management, to increase visibility of anti-corruption commitments and to set standard target objectives for anti-corruption policies. The quality of an anti-corruption compliance certificate is determined by the quality of the assessor’s terms of reference, methodology and expertise in the field of anti-corruption compliance. The absence of conflicts of interest is also a necessary condition to guarantee the quality of a certificate. |
